Lonestar opened its doors in northern Alberta in 2000 with a need for support in the drilling industry with vacuum trucks. Expansion from the first truck to a fleet of 10 happened rapidly in the early years.

Lonestar’s early success led to expanding into hydrovacs as well as a public offering to raise capital for further expansion in 2008. At that time, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC were serviced by several divisions with head office operations located in Sylvan Lake.

Lonestar expanded into Eastern Canada in 2011 and then into the United States in 2012 with a peak of 10 new trucks per month being added to the operation and eventually a peak fleet size of 165 trucks.

Lonestar was acquired by Clean Harbors in 2017, and the decision was made to focus on the Canadian market at that time. Today, Lonestar operates across Canada primarily serving Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.
