Opportunities for Indigenous Canadians
In keeping with Clean Harbors’ commitments to Indigenous communities, we are dedicated to developing opportunities for Indigenous people throughout North America. - Our presence at employment and career fairs organized specifically for members of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities
- Direct hiring of Indigenous community members where we operate
- Supporting Indigenous owned businesses through sub-contracting of goods and services
- Participation and funding for Indigenous cultural events
- Sponsorships and scholarships to educational institutions, sporting, and community groups, and program offerings designed to support career advancement and self-improvement
Our Commitment to Indigenous Communities
Hiring Indigenous individuals is only one component of our commitment to working with our Indigenous neighbours throughout North America. We are fully dedicated to the development of our cultural awareness and contributing to the growth and sustainability of Indigenous communities. It is our goal to operate in alignment with Indigenous foundations, ensure our engagement is meaningful, and seek out creative, realistic ways to contribute to the sustainability of Indigenous people, cultures, and traditions.
Working together is an important part of how we operate and is an integral factor in developing and maintaining sustainable cross-cultural relationships. Our process for engaging with communities and their members has been developed to ensure alignment with the Clean Harbors vision for the future and is rooted in our support of the sustainability of Indigenous culture and communities.
